{tab Description of Department}
The Department of Ecology manages and coordinates the academic activities related to Ecology , Environmental Science and Sustainable Development. It is an integral part of the Technical Board of the College of Biological Sciences.
Mission
The Department of Ecology is an academic administrative structure of the College of Biological Sciences, whose mission through its laboratories, is the training of human resources competent in the conservation, preservation, restoration and sustainable use of natural resources, optimization of land use and environmental planning by providing assessments of environmental impact, and the sustainable development of the region and the country productive activities.
Vision
Increasethe academic quality and skills of its faculty members, staff, and students, through teaching , research and extension activities that support the training of human resources in undergraduate and graduate programs, competent and capable leadership in solving ecological problems to contribute to sustainable development of the state and the country.
The department is comprised ofseveral laboratories and physical spaces with infrastructure within the College, where faculty and staff develop academic activities related to the curriculum for the Biolgy, Bacteriological Parasitological Chemistry, Food Science, and Genomic Biotechnology programs, as well as the graduate programs.
